Colored laser printers are more complex printing machines compared to their monochrome counterpart because a color unit employs 4 color toner cartridges (black, cyan, magenta, and yellow) to produce laser quality, color prints. Consequently complementing the intricate system at work in a color laser printer is the hefty pricing of its consumables; particularly that of the toner cartridge. In the past, laser printer users had no choice but to carry the burden of expensive printing costs. Nowadays, users have the option to recycle empty cartridges and refill its toner hopper with a fresh load of compatible toner supplied with toner refill kits.
